The Cerino Zegna Foundation is a recognized reality in our territory supporting those in need, with a focus on those who are no longer self-sufficient or who live with neuro-degenerative diseases.
At De Martini we are close to the people, and families, who face the challenges related to these diseases on a daily basis, and we strongly believe in fostering spaces that can support them during their therapeutic paths.
We are proud to be the main sponsor for the realization of the so-called ‘Il Giardino Ritrovato’ (The Rediscovered Garden) at the Ines and Piera Capellaro Residence in Mongrando (Biella, Italy), which was inaugurated on Saturday, June 15th. The space was created following the standards of therapeutic gardens to support people with Alzheimer's disease or disorders related to cognitive impairment.
The garden has a strong therapeutic value by allowing guests to have a space where they can freely move around and do various activities complementary to the standard therapies that are already carried out at the facility.
The space has been designed with several playful, recreational and spiritual experiences that can benefit these people. We have a sensory itinerary with crops of sage, rosemary and lavender, a chicken coop for pet therapy, a washhouse and clothesline to give guests the opportunity to let off steam with small actions, a vegetable garden where they can take care of their plants, and a prayer area with a statue of the Madonna di Oropa, a symbol of our land, Biella.
