Our history

De Martini, based in Cerrione (Biella, Italy), heart of one of the textile district, has been working in the textile industry since 1960. In the early Seventies, through the experience gained in processing synthetic fibres, we took up a new challenge and started producing capillary flow-control filters used as reservoirs in writing instruments, cosmetics and air fresheners markets. In 1986 we set up a plant to produce polyester fibres for specific uses, allowing to expand the product range and relative applications. The change of pace came at the end of 1990 by establishing DBT Fibre SpA, into which we conferred the textile business aimed to develop and produce fibres and tops for spinning.

The new De Martini SpA then focuses totally on the design and production of controlled capillary filters, giving great impetus to new applications and markets. Today, we produce and distribute filters in acetate, polyester and polypropylene fibers and supply the world's leading manufacturers of writing instruments, room scenting or diffusion devices, products for cosmetics and many other applications.

In 2016 we inaugurated our new production site in Cerrione. This modern and functional facility allowed us to implement new and cutting-edge technologies for process control to achieve continuous quality improvement. As a result of this ongoing process of growth and development, we have obtained ISO 9001 certification.

Our products are exported in all five continents and the various markets are served either from our main plant in Cerrione, Italy, or through the joint venture created with the Hitkari Group based in Mumbai, India, the De Martini Hitkari Fine Products Pvt. Ltd.

We have always had a 360-degree view. The challenge to expand De Martini brand towards the global market propitiated the partnership with Hitkari Group, based in Mumbai (India). From this partnership De Martini Hitkari Fine Products Pvt. Ltd. was born.
